Post Doctoral Position in computational population genetics
A 2-year funded position for a bright postdoctoral fellow is available immediately in the group. We are searching for a highly motivated recent (or soon to be) Ph.D. graduate interested in performing research in computational population genetics. Desirable qualifications include a strong quantitative background in computer science, computational biology and/or statistical genetics. We encourage candidates with programming experience (e.g. C/C++,Java,R, Matlab, python/perl).
The ideal candidate will have substantial input to the specific nature of the research project. However, the project(s) should broadly fit within the group’s research goals of applying computer science and population genetic principles to make inferences about the genetic architecture of common or rare disease. Opportunities will be available to analyze next-generation sequencing data across multiple traits and populations.
UCLA is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
